ILP Integration

We are currently testing ILP in Canvas, within the test instances on both ends. We have been able to successfully run batch jobs, however, we can't seem to get it to turn "on" for automatic changes.

Has anyone else run into this issue before? We have tried removing and reintegrating on both ends, but that didn't work. We are subscribed to all recommended features on the ellucian side.

ILP was also running live in our production instance of Canvas from when it was tested three years ago. (I'm new in my role) No one thought it was turned on, but it would occasionally make changes in the background, for instance dropping the domain from user's login, which locked them out, and recently it deleted user's SIS ID. It has to be ILP doing it as nothing else could be making those changes.

Has anyone else experienced these types of issues?

Hi,

Your Issue might be with BEP, We have to restart the service daily, to get Rabbit to communicate with Banner to send automatic enrollments to ILP. then Enrollments are delivered to Canvas.

Also,

You can not use Canvas standard usernames like last name first initial, ILP will only recognize selected fields in Banner for enrollments.

we had to change all Canvas user names to their Banner ID number.

I recommend you contact Ellucian and have an ILP consultant work with you.  We have had ILP 5 running since getting it set up with an Ellucian consultant along with BEP and Ethos.  I believe the 'on premise' version of ILP 4.x  will eventually not be supported so you will want to upgrade to the SaaS version.   

As far as IDs -- we use the same student ID --what we call our Netid which is the same ID as students use to connect to our network--for both Canvas and ILP so that works smoothly.  Our Identity Management group is planning to switch to the fully qualified "netid@nd.edu"  as the primary identifier, so at that point we will have to also adjust Canvas and ILP which should not be a major change.
