I am consistently not able to see published images embedded within discussion assignments I create when I look at the assignments in student view. It does not matter if I use Chrome or Safari--and on Safari I have disabled the cross tracking, so that is not an issue.
Any solutions?
Hi @JohnLeland ...
How are you adding in these images to your discussion topics? Are the images loaded in your course "Files" area of your course? Or, are you copying and pasting images from one course to another? If you could provide some extra details for us here in the Community, that would be great...thanks!
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @JohnLeland,
To continue with what @Chris_Hofer was saying, have you used the How do I validate links in a course? - Instructure Community - 1001 feature?
If/When you use the feature, do the images come as an item that cannot be accessed?
-Doug
@JohnLeland you are in safe hands with @dbrace and @Chris_Hofer
I would add two pennies worth
1. Our home grown assessment solution means that our Canvas Assignments are no longer visible to Instructors when using the 'View as Student' button, which is somewhat inconvenient and generates a lot of instructor support calls
2. It would be worth checking with your local Canvas support as to whether they can set up a test student account which would allow you to log in and experience your course as a student using an incognito browser
You might also try adding student to your own Course enrolment in People (if your local settings permit this) which may allow you to see the images.
