Good day,
I’m looking for the correct format to include feedback on individual answers in my multiple-choice quiz.
I’ve tried using the @ symbol as well as + or - indicators, but neither approach seems to work. I’ve successfully imported the quiz along with the answers, but I need assistance with the format required to import feedback for each answer choice. Specifically, I’m looking to add feedback for the correct answer and separate feedback for each of the three incorrect answers.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hi @AngeliqueBezuid,
Are you using New Quizzes or Classic Quizzes?
For Classic Quizzes, when using the SpeedGrader to grade individual questions, it is not possible to format the text in the "Additional Comments" box. This is shown in the guide at How do I grade quiz questions in SpeedGrader? - Instructure Community - 709.
For New Quizzes, when using the SpeedGrader to grade individual questions, you have the ability to use the "Rich Content Editor". This is shown in the guide at How do I add feedback to a question in New Quizzes... - Instructure Community - 591.

Good day @dbrace
Thank you for your reply. My apologies for the oversight—I realize I only mentioned this in the subject line, but my question is specifically about importing quizzes in Canvas QTI format. I’ve successfully imported the quiz with the questions, and the sequence and details come through perfectly. However, I still need to manually add feedback for each individual answer, including separate feedback for the three incorrect options.
Is there any way to pre-set the feedback during import, similar to how correct answers are indicated with asterisks?
Attached image shows the feedback that I'm refering to, it's the feedback in the red and green block/s
Thank you for that additional context, @AngeliqueBezuid.
I do not have a lot of experience using it but a few months ago I randomly came across Create a quiz for Canvas in QTI format using ChatGPT. (Step By Step Instructions) on YouTube. While I did not use the ChatGPT instructions, in the comments of the video I found references to a tool from Instructional Technology Services at San Diego State University.
I had concerns with it because (1) the website is not HTTPS and (2) the format of the link. I dug a little deeper and found "Canvas Exam Converter" from New York Tech at https://site.nyit.edu/its/canvas_exam_converter and it is HTTPS. I also found "Create Canvas Quiz Questions All at Once" from Information Technology Services | Education Technologies at the University of North Carolina at https://edtech.unc.edu/2023/12/create-canvas-quiz-questions-all-at-once.
I would recommend giving them a try if you are looking to make QTI files without using a paid-for option.
If you are looking for a paid-for option, I would recommend Respondus 4 - Respondus (not the LockDown Browser for virtual proctoring but the tool for creating and managing quizzes, tests, and exams).
