Individual Grade different than Group Assignment grade

Hello,

I am grading a group assignment, however one group member didn't participate. When I go in and change the individual grade for that one group member to 0, it's changing the grade of all group members to 0. 

Please help.

Hi there, @NadineStorr ...

When you initially set up the group assignment in your course, did you select the option to "Assign Grades to Each Student Individually"?  This is described about 1/3 the way down this Guide: How do I assign an assignment to a course group? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com).

I have the same question. Once the assignment is created - as a group assignment and with group grades - how can you later assign grades individually?

It looks like you can change the setting to "Assign grades to each student individually" even after grades have been assigned, and then you can change one person's grade without affecting the other group members' grades.
