Is it possible to merge scores for two assignments in Canvas?

I would like to merge a 5 point canvas quiz with an uploaded pdf assignment score into an overall chapter score. Is there a way to do this?

Hi @lilliepe,

Each assignment/quiz/graded discussion will have it's own unique column in the Canvas gradebook, and to my knowledge there is no way to combine those columns together, short of making a new single assignment and manually inputting the grades there and deleting the original assignments (which I would not recommend as it would also remove student answers, feedback, etc).  Depending what the need is, you could use assignment groups and weighing to put the two assignments into a category and weigh that towards the final grade.

I hope this helps a bit!  If it doesn't, could you please provide additional details in what you'd like to accomplish so someone might be able to come up with some alternative options.

I think this question was asked because of the way canvas uploads documents in quizzes. Is there are way for the instructor to see an uploaded document in a canvas quiz without having to download the document?
