Media Upload Submissions Broken

My students for an AV class are unable to submit their videos to complete assignments. After uploading, they can watch the clip, but when they submit, they are given the error message as seen in the screen cap video. "There was an error submitting your attempt." This is a major headache for an AV teacher.

Submitting as a file upload is a temporary workaround but this takes much longer to grade and is not a long term solution.

Have you or your student put in a Support ticket for this issue? You can submit a ticket by accessing your Help Menu and "Report a Problem". I would also connect with your LMS admin about your issue as well. Have a great rest of your day!

I have put in a help ticket through the district I work for and they have tried to help out. I believe they are contacting Canvas as well. I do not see Report a Problem under the help menu on my end. I was hoping to see by posting here if this was a widespread issue. I've asked other AV teachers in my district but none of them have responded yet.

Thank you for the screen recording. I have two questions, let me provide some background first from what I see in your recording and in my experience with computing in general.

When your screen recording started, you were on your "Desktop" and in the "Exports" folder. When in that folder, I see the standard looking thumbnail of the video and in the lower-right corner of each thumbnail I see the "VLC" icon (because it has been set as the default program on your computer for opening media files). You then navigated to the "9-2" folder in your "Google Drive" storage location. For each video thumbnail, in the lower-left corner there is a "cloud" icon signifying that file is stored online in Google Drive.

In my experience and by default, files that are stored online in Google Drive are not actually saved on the computer itself and instead are (using Google Drive terminology) streamed to the computer as needed. This basically means that each item is more of a shortcut to the file and not the actual file itself.

So I have two questions:

1. Have you tried uploading something that does not have the "cloud" icon in the lower-left corner and experienced problems with it?
2. Do you have your computer's Google Drive preferences set to "Stream files" or "Mirror files"? If you are not sure, check out the two Google Support articles below:
