When I start a new module and i go to a previous canvas course and cut and paste the information in the new Canvas Module, it duplicates it to my other modules I have in that Canvas as well .. Only want it in the module i'm working on ?

I'm not sure why you are "cutting and pasting" items. There are much better ways to transfer content.

If you are starting from the original course, you can "copy" the items to the new course. When you "copy," you can select which module will receive the items. One note: if the items are published in the original course, they will be published in the new course.

I completely agree with @SusanNiemeyer here.  There's no need to copy/paste from course to course.  You're just setting yourself up for potential issues such as broken links.  (Example: if you copy/paste from one course to another, you may have links in courses that point back to a previous course...which your current students wouldn't have access to.)  As Susan has suggested, there are much better ways that you can go about doing things which will be faster for you in the long run.  Susan mentioned using the "Copy to" function.  Here are a couple Guides on that for you:

(You can also copy individual Pages and Discussion topics, for example, using a similar process.)

Also, you can use the Course Import Tool where you'd log in to your empty course (or the course you want to copy the content into...which may already have some content), and then you can use either of these Guides:

I  always use the Import function at the beginning of each semester to import content into my new course shell. I find it very useful, especially in that I can remove the assignment date. 

That being said, I am a bit hesitant to recommend its usage once the new course is underway because it's too easy for an instructor to make a huge mistake.

@PaulHayes  If you decide to "import" (rather than "copy") items into your current course, be very careful to import SELECTED content. If you are not careful, and don't designate "selected," you will instead bring over everything from the old course, which will overwrite your current course material. Canvas will give you a warning before you do that. Heed the warning.

In this case, I think copying the items from the original course to the new course is the right way to go.
