A published module gets automatically unpublished when I edit it. Is there any reason for this?
Steps to create this:
- Open a course in Canvas.
- Go to the Published module, and click the Options menu (3 vertical dots).
- Select Edit.
- Make changes to the module settings such as locking the module, adding prerequisites, or requirements.
- Click Update Module. Check the status of the Module, it is set to Unpublished.
We need to either refresh the page or re-publish the module to see the status as Published. Is this a bug?

That's a good observation. I'm not entirely sure of an answer for you, though. I was searching the Community for relevant documentation, but I wasn't coming up with anything with a good explanation. I looked in these places:

But then I also looked at this blog post from Instructure's Allison Howell: Coming Soon: Bulk Publish and Unpublish Modules! - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com). While it might not directly answer your question, I think that posting your question to that blog would be worthwhile. It looks like Allison has been replying to people, so you might also get a response from her there, too.
Or, you could submit this as a potential issue to Canvas Support: How do I get help with Canvas as an instructor?
