Dear all,
I need to assign two different quizzes to two different groups of students in the class, on different dates.
Quizzes belong to a weighted group assignment which is worth the 30% of the final grade.
My question is:
If I create 2 different quizzes in the group assingment, assigned respectively to each different group of students, will this affect the weight of each quiz?
Namely, if the 30% weighted group assignment contains 1 quiz, the quiz will be worth 30% of the final grade. If I add another quiz in the same group assignment, both quizzes will then be worth 15% each of the final grade. But if I assign each quiz to two different groups of students, what will be their respective weight? 15% each or 30% each?
Thank you.

Hi @MFedericis,
Things not assigned to a specific student will not impact their grades at all. So if you use the "assign to" feature end ensure each student only has one of the quizzes assigned to them, the assigned quiz would be 30% total grade weight per student.
I did also want t clarify for anyone else who might see this thread that if you did have multiple quizzes (or assignments, discussions, etc) assigned to students within an assignment group, they'd only be equally weighed if the points for all things were equal. The grade for each student for each assignment group is calculated by taking the points earned and dividing it by the points possible. If you had a 50 point quiz and a 25 point quiz assigned to all students inside your 30% weighted group, the 50 point quiz would end up being 20% of the overall grade and the 25 point quiz would end up being 10% of the overall grade.
I hope this helps!
