Hello,
I am a High School Academic Resource teacher. I created a parent account last year so that I could follow the students in my class and keep tabs on their Canvas. I stopped observing all students at the end of last year but kept my parent account. I just logged on and I do not have the option to observe students anymore.
Is there anyway to fix this besides having to create a brand new canvas account? I also have a teacher account but I do not have the option of observing students on that account anymore either
Thank you!

Hi @Chicks5 -
You could definitely start from scratch. Your Canvas Administrator would need to remove the secondary account from your system. It may also be an opportunity to ask if you could have a second district-owned email address for only Observing students. It could be a nice way (and a safe way) to keep work and other items separate.
Hi @Chicks5 -
Do you know if your school district made changes to the availability of Observer accounts? Have you tried to use your observer account with the Canvas Parent app?
There are a few scenarios we can explore together. I look forward to collaborating. 🙂
Hi,
I'm not sure if availability was changed I don't remember getting information about it.
I just tried to log onto the parent app and it says "it looks like you aren't enrolled in any courses as a parent." Is it possible to delete my old parent account and just sign-up again? I would love to be able to use the same email but not sure how to navigate that.
Thank you!
