Once set up group submission, later deleted but students still can't submit works individually

The first assignment is an individual one and the second is in a group of 4. I set up groups for the second assignment before the first assignment's due date, and the group setting applied to the first assignment submission! As the result only the first group member's work was shown on Canvas, other students can't upload their works.

I deleted all the groups settings once I learnt the problem with the submission, but the problem remains.

Can anyone help?

Sorry you are having trouble with your group assignments! I know how frustrating this can be at times.  

To determine the root cause of the issue, I would have to look at your Assignments, Group settings, and Group configurations. But there are a few things to be aware of when you use group assignments. For some reason, groups and group assignments can be a bit unforgiving in Canvas if a mistake has been made.. 

• I always recommend setting up the groupset first. This will house the groups that can be created Manually or Automatically. If you want to dedicate a student leader, this would be the best time to make that happen.  Students should always be assigned to groups before group assignments are published.
• You'll want to ensure that the students are all in the correct group before you proceed with assigning graded items and having them submit work to be graded. If your assignments are not assigned to the correct group, this can cause a whole bunch of problems when you get to the point of grading..especially with group discussions. 
• When you setup your group assignment, you do have the option to assign grades to each student individually. However, keep in mind that if one student from the group submits, this submission counts for all the group members. If you have multiple students submitting in the same group, you can still view and evaluate multiple submissions by clicking on the Submissions To View drop down. 

I am not sure why your other students can't upload their work...Some areas I would check first are: 

• Does the assignment allow for multiple submissions per user/group? 
• Is the assignment Assigned correctly? 
• Has the Until date passed on the assignment?
