How do I pin an announcement?

Hello  @monica_obstgart  Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thank you for posting your question.  Unfortunately, pinning an announcement is not a current feature of Canvas.  I did a quick search of topic here in the Community, and I found this Feature Idea which may be similar to what you are looking for: https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/9784-announcements-lock-to-home" modifiedtitle="true" title="A....  If you feel that this Feature Idea aligns with something you would like to see implemented in Canvas, I would encourage you to add your vote and maybe post a comment to it letting Instructure engineers know why this would be important to you.

A colleague found a workaround.  Edit the announcement that you want to be on top.  Change its availability time to start 1-2 minutes in the future.  Then it will appear on the top until you post another Announcement.  Repeat every time you post a new Announcement.

Hi,  @monica_obstgart  and Welcome!

As an instructor, you can view all of your course announcements from the "Announcements" page (select "Announcements" tab from the course navigation menu). From here you can view, manage, delete, and lock your announcements. Here's a Canvas LMS Guide to assist: How do I use the Announcements Index Page? 

Assuming you want to pin a particular announcement to the top of the "Announcements" index page, I am not aware of a "pin" function.
