Problem in time synchronization

I have set Time Zone as a Kathmandu time in canvas and I posted an announcement at a tentative 7.30 p.m, august 30 of Nepal time but the canvas shows that the announcement is posted on August 30, 9.36 am. Why canvas is showing different times and how can I solve this problem?

Hi @sasa this sounds frustrating.

I just need to check that you have gone to the course settings to set the time zone.

If you have done all of these correctly then all should be well. If not, then perhaps reach out to your institution's Canvas support crew. if they cannot help then contact Canvas Support.

Thank you for your reply. I would like to inform you that I have followed the same steps to set the time zone of the course as mentioned in the guidelines.

Hello @sasa ...

In addition to the information you received from @Bobby2, there are two additional spots where a time zone can be changed.  One of those is at the Canvas account level...and only your school's local Canvas administrator would be able to set it there.  How do I set details for an account?

In addition, there is a time zone that can be configured per user.  How do I set a time zone in my user account as an instructor?

You might want to check with your school's Canvas admin to make sure that the time zone is set correctly.

Thank you for the information. Though my course level time zone is set correctly, I found that my account level time zone has been set to another time zone and after I update the time zone in my account level as well, the problem is solved.
