Quiz listed twice in gradebook but when score is adjusted and previous score deleted, it breaks

The quiz is listed twice in the gradebook. In the first column, as far as I know Canvas is assigning points for the questions as they are assigned on the quiz. The teacher tries to update the score in the right column because some are written questions where she gives a grade point between 2 numbers, such as 1-5. She reviews them and tries to update them in the gradebook.  From there she goes to delete the score that was the old score and the Canvas quiz seems to be deleted permanently. Is there any fix for this or is there a way to do what the teacher is doing without deleting the quiz entirely?

Hi @JaretSanchez 

Canvas does not create two columns for the same assignment.  If the assignment is a quiz with both automatically and manually-graded (essay) questions, there is still only one column in the grade book.  You will want to check each column and see which assignment each one is pointing to.

I agree with what @mzimmerman stated.  It appears there are 2 quizzes and if the scores are to be combined into one, then something different would have to be done.  Or easier yet, just keep the 2 scores as they are.  Of course all questions could be put in one quiz and all the manually graded questions would have to be done on that quiz for all the points to show

As a side note, you really should not post pictures showing the names of the students - just showing the two columns would be sufficient in this case.
