Hello! Is it possible at all to recover the content/grades of a Canvas Course that was reset? If yes, how? Thank you!

Hi there, @Joe28 ...
Possibly! If you are not a Canvas administrator for your school, you can have a discussion with that person at your school, and give them this Guide:
How do I restore a deleted course in an account? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
Now, you may need to log in to your school's "beta" or "test" environment first to determine what the original Course ID number was in the URL of your course.
Once you determine that number (be sure to sign out of these environments when you are done), then you can give this Course ID number to your Canvas admin, and they may be able to restore the course. Your Canvas admin should also be able to look up this Course ID number in the "test" or "beta" environment, too.
Hope this helps...and good luck with restoring your course!
Hi @Joe28,
Just wanted to make a specific comment about restoring deleted/reset courses (it is mentioned in the guide @Chris_Hofer linked, but gets overlooked sometimes). When the course is restored, the content will come back with it, so that's a positive. Enrollments, however, will not be restored, which means grades also won't be restored initially. To recover grade info, the students enrollments would need to be restored as well, possibly by your school's Canvas administrator or other support personnel.

Thanks for providing that extra bit of info, @chriscas! Glad you caught that! Take care...
Chris
Does enrollment mean I have to schedule the students back into the course? I am trying to recover Grades as well.
Hi @JRose77 ,
Yes, that is correct. After restoring the course, you (or someone with the correct permissions) would need to add the students back into the course to allow you to see the grade information again.

Ok thank you for this....I also have another question. The section wasn't deleted it's just that the teacher has changed to me. How can I recover the section after the course reset?
