Rendering of Attachments in Canvas

I have formatting requirements for assignment submission, but Canvas will sometimes distort the font and spacing when rendering the submission in the Gradebook.  This makes it impossible to check the formatting without downloading the document.

I also have attachments in Canvas pages that are arbitrarily rendered incorrectly.  Aside from the fact that they are harder to read I cannot expect students to following formatting requirements if I appear to ignore them.  This is content I want students to be able to print out so I do not want to embed it directly in the page.
Thanks in  advance for help.

Hi @EleanorChlan,

Instructure does maintain a list of supported fonts for DocViewer (the document previewer SpeedGrader and other areas of Canvas use).  I know it's not ideal, but you could share that lost with students ahead of time to minimize the display difference in DocViewer vs what you would see downloading the file.  I hope more font support is added in at some point, but I do understand there are licensing and probably other tech issues involved with this.

I hope the font list at least helps you out a bit!
