Hello,

Sequence of events;

A teacher has created an assignment in Canvas.

A student must have a later deadline, which was corrected when all other students submitted their answers to the assignment.

So the teacher edited the assignment by, as I understand it, replacing all the students with only the individual student.

This results in all student results now gone.

My question now is: Can these lost results be recreated?

Hi @caroline_hellst 

I think the teacher used the 'assign to' function and at first assigned the assignment to a complete section.

The teacher should add a second 'assign to' box with the name of the specific student instead of replacing the section. Because from what you describe, I think they replaced the complete section for one student.

The solution is simple: in the assignment, create another 'assign to' box and reassign the assignment to the section that was deleted.

Save, and the results should show up again.
