Some assignments from one class showing up in other classes too

I've not seen this before but in the new school year that has started late last week, a few students are seeing not just their homework but homework assignments from other classes. I have confirmed with looking via Student View but can't figure out what is causing this. I copied over canvas classes from last year but only unhide the assignments once I update the dates and any content; it's always marked as for "Everone", which has always worked (I have no sections; at another school where I teach I have four sections of one class and can assign by section - it works great). How can I diagnose and correct this problem? Thanks.

Hi,

By 'from other classes' do you mean that students are seeing assignments from canvas courses in which they are not enrolled? Such behavior would would warrant reaching out to your institution's Canvas admin and submitting a support ticket to Instructure (rather than or in addition to seeking help in the Community), but such support would not be available in you're using free for teacher Canvas. Or are you managing multiple 'classes' from a single Canvas course in the first school you mention?
