Speedgrader Forum Update

Hi,

The forum speedgrader update is extremely slow and clunky. It seems to work like a video slot machine with each student going back to the top and then scrolling down to the most recent post/reply. Then, to see other replies or posts, clicking the button does the same thing for the same student's next reply/post. It's so clunky that its not useful. Can this feature be turned off to go back to the original speedgrader. It's like the process was divorced from practice of actually grading.

What you're describing sounds like the behavior of the Speedgrader after the new Discussion Checkpoints feature was enabled by your school.

There has been a lot of feedback related to this feature, and Canvas has temporarily rolled in back for schools that have not enabled it.  See the this blog article.

You will want to contact Canvas Support at your school if you want to have it turned off on the school's Canvas instance.
