I received the following message from a faculty member: "One of my students informed me that the students are able to edit one of my modules. Not sure how I manage to do that, but I would like to learn how to turn it off."
I verified from the student view this is accurate. I could not find any apparent detail in the settings of the class that would cause this. Additionally, this error applied to all the CRNs from the instructor. Any ideas as to what is allowing students to edit the class modules?

I'm wondering if by "module" the teacher perhaps means a page (I see this terminology confusion at my institution)? I don't know of any way people with a student role could change modules, but for pages there is a dropdown at the bottom of each page in edit mode giving options on who can edit the page. Perhaps that dropdown was inadvertently changes for a particular page.

That is really strange behavior. The fact that it is one module and in all courses for that instructor adds to the strangeness. I do not know of any setting that would give permissions for editing on a single module.
My only suggestion would be to get in touch with Canvas technical support and see if they can figure out what is going on. I think this is an area where people on the forum are not going to be able to help - unless someone else has experienced this same issue.

good thought on that possibility. I forgot all about that box being present on the pages area as I do not create new pages that often. What you described is most likely the case.
