I have a student who is unable to take a New Quiz in Canvas. She sent me this screenshot, and I can't figure out what's going on. Is it her browser? She is the only student having this problem.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I didn't get a real answer, but I had her share her screen in a Zoom call, and she showed me that she was trying to get to the New Quiz from the Grades page. I asked her to go to the Modules page and try clicking on the quiz from there, and it worked!
Are you sure the student has not taken the quiz? Check the moderate tab for the quiz and see if the student took the quiz. That looks like the view for looking at the results from taking the quiz.
If the student has not taken the quiz, I have no idea.
What are the settings on the quiz? That may help some as well.

Thank you for the suggestion to check the Moderate tab. I just did, and it shows that she's made no attempts at the quiz. All the other students seem to have taken the quiz with no problems. A couple took it twice to improve their scores. Under Settings, the only thing I checked was Allow Multiple Attempts, so I guess it's still a mystery.
@bratsj58 ...
I assume that you have the New Quiz listed on your "Modules" screen, correct? Is this student able to access the New Quiz from the "Modules" screen?
Yes, apparently when she opens it, either from the Modules or just navigating through the Next buttons, that's what she sees. But thank you for trying to help.
Hello @bratsj58
That view indicates the student took it (albeit submitted an empty quiz) and it is failing to populate their results. However, it also says it is missing and if there are no attempts under moderate - that is strange. Is it locked now to the students due to the "until" assignment date? Have they tried to open this on any other browser or clear their cache and cookies? If all general trouble shooting isn't working, the student did not ever open a single attempt, and it should be open to them via dates/multiple attempts.. you may want to contact Canvas Support directly.
Because of the complexity of the issue, and the concerns for privacy, it would be best if you contacted Canvas Support directly to pinpoint the source of the issue and provide a resolution:

Thank you. I will ask her if she has tried other browsers and if she could try clearing her cache and cookies. One problem is that this is an ESL class, and language and lack of tech-know-how can get in the way. Otherwise, if we can't fix it, I will try contacting Canvas Support. They have been very helpful in the past.
Did you ever get an answer to this question? I am also having that exact same issue right now with a student. I can see it in "Student view" but she can't. I have also suggested clearing cache, and cookies, new browser, logging in again, and making sure she goes through modules.
Any help would be appreciated.
