I have started using video feedback on assignments using the embedded tool in Speedgrader. A student says that they aren't able to view my video feedback on their phone. Is this possible? Is there a guide to walk them through how to access instructor video feedback on a mobile device?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Glad to hear that it seems to be a momentary blip.
For future reference, these two guides and the "View Submission Comments" section in them how/where students can view instructor feedback:
I understand your concern about captions not being included. Have you by chance reviewed the https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-record-a-webcam-video-screen-capture-or... guide? In the "View Posted Recording" portion it makes reference to captions being included if "audible speech was recorded".

Hi @StephanieHart,
Is the student using an iPhone/iPad or Android?
On that device, are they using the Canvas Studio mobile app or their web browser?
-Doug
Hello. They are using the Canvas mobile app, but I don't know if they have an iPhone or Android. They did say that they were able to view subsequent video feedback, so perhaps it was just a momentary blip where they couldn't connect. FYI, my university is on the fence about the video feedback - it doesn't have a captioning option, so it isn't ADA/disability compliant, as least not yet.

Thank you for the additional instructions. This is helpful to know, though the alternate method would definitely take longer to create a captioned video for each student during grading and increase the overall amount time needed to grade each assignment.
