Student needs quiz attempt to be nullified

How might I delete the student's attempt on. a quiz? I tried to reassign the quiz but the student still cannot take the quiz.

The bottom line is that you cannot delete a quiz attempt. 

That being said, you can give an individual student another attempt. These directions are for Classic Quizzes. 

1. Go to "Moderate Quiz." Click on the pencil icon to the right of the student's name. Add an extra attempt.
2. Make sure that the quiz is still open for the student. You can add another date box by going into "edit" mode, clicking on +ADD below the box of dates.

I assume that the steps are similar in New Quizzes.
