I want to create a quiz that is available for a 24 hour period and requires students to create and submit a pdf response, but only allow each student 2 hours to open and complete the quiz. Is something like this possible?

Hello there, @davej ...
Yup...this sounds completely possible. I'm not sure if you are using current Classic Quizzes or New Quizzes, but here's what to do in both interfaces:
- Classic Quizzes
- Set your time limit for 120 minutes, and set your availability dates/times for a 24-hour time frame. See this Guide for instructions on how to do both of these things: What options can I set in a quiz? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
- Create a file-upload question in your quiz. See this Guide: How do I create a File Upload quiz question? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
- New Quizzes
- Set your availability dates/times for a 24-hour time frame. See this Guide: How do I create a quiz using New Quizzes? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
- Set your time limit for the quiz. See this Guide: How do I manage settings for a quiz in New Quizzes... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
- Create a file-upload question in your quiz: How do I create a File Upload question in New Quiz... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
Here are also a couple of short video tutorials that will walk you through much of what I've described above, but the Guides I linked above will give you more detail.
Hope this helps a bit. Let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks!
