Unable to add file / attach file in messages

Hi,

When I am writing a message to someone and then attempt to click on the paperclip to add a file / attach a file, the button doesnt "engage". I have been using canvas all through undergrad and this problem just started a couple weeks ago. I click on the paper clip and the file browser doesn't appear. This is extremely frustrating because some of my assignments are submitted through canvas messages. I am using Safari, but it is really inconvenient to have to switch browsers to add a file. Is there a setting that I need to change?

Paul,

Have you met or exceeded your personal file space quota perhaps?  Click on Account, Files and then look below the list to see how much of your allowed space you've used.  This is just a guess.

In your message you implied that switching browsers works.  Make sure you have an updated version of Safari.
