Unable to see class on Dashboard

Hi everyone,

I am no longer able to see my class listed on dashboard. It currently says that I am not registered for any courses, since I have not registered for Spring yet. However, I did not know that registering for upcoming semesters would affect my ability to see classes from previous quarters...

Good morning, @MV6 ...

First, go to your "Courses" >> "All Courses" screen in Canvas to see if you can locate your courses there.  If they are not listed there, then you will need to reach out to your instructor and/or your school's Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Learning department or your school's Canvas administrator.  They would be able to help you find out what happened to those courses.  Good luck!  Let Community members know if you have any other questions.  Thanks!

I teach at a community college. At the end of every semester, students lose access to their Canvas courses. :This is a District-wide policy. Every semester, I tell my students to retain copies of their own work separately from Canvas.

This policy is not any different than a standard face-to-face class. If, for example, you register and take Math 100 for the Fall 2022 semester at your college, you can't expect to continue to show up for Math 100 in Spring 2023, whether the class meets in-person, on Zoom, or asynchronously.

@Chris_Hofer - I really think that this is standard policy at most colleges and universities.
