Unsubmitted assignments not marked "Missing" after the due date.

I'm having a strange issue with a course.

I automatically have my grade book mark late submissions with a zero.  However, when the due date passes, the assignments without submissions are not marked "Missing"; they remain "None", and so they don't get the "0".

The strange thing is that I have two identical courses (two sections of the same class) that I created by importing last semester's course.  I did the importing exactly the same for both courses.  They both have the same due dates (the Sunday after the class).

But the issue only shows up in one of the courses.  The other one automatically changes the status of the assignments to "Missing" after the due date.

I've compared all settings, and they both look exactly the same.

I wanted to see if anybody has had this issue before I place a ticket with my college's IT department.

Without being able to review your courses, I cannot think of any specific area to look at; especially since you said that you have reviewed all of the settings.

If you have the ability to (whether you can or cannot would be based on your school's contract with Canvas), you can also reach out directly to Canvas Support using the options available in the "Help" area of Canvas.

I know you said you "did the importing exactly the same for both courses", but is it possible that in one of them you adjusted the dates during the import (option 1 below), while in the other you adjusted the dates after the import (option 2)?

Sorry for the late reply.  I think this might be a possible solution.  I will have to test it out next semester to see if checking off "adjust events and due dates" or manually adjusting them later replicates the issue.

Otherwise, there are no real differences between the two courses.
