late policy

Our teachers want to apply late policy by assignment category.  We have usually 3 categories but they do not want a late piolicy on all categories.  Example:

Major category - no late policy
Minor category - 10 points per day
Other category - 10 points per day

Anyone know how to accomplish this other than doing it manually?

Hi @S9300807,

Unfortunately, late policies in Canvas right now are only available at a course level, meaning you can have one single late policy apply to everything, or no automatic late policy at all.  There is an existing idea to allow different late policies per assignment at  [Gradebook Settings] Separate Late policies for in... - Instructure Community - 365187, so perhaps it's something Instructure will build into Canvas in the future.  At this point, I think you'd have to do this manually though.
