While Immersive reader is great for students looking at a page or directions within a module, Immersive Reader is needed for quizzes that teachers create. Our district has a high number of students that require learning support and having a quiz read aloud to them is so beneficial. Can Canvas please find a way to incorporate read aloud into quizzes?
Hi there, @BRITTANYSCHMIDT ...
I've not used Read Aloud at all, so I cannot speak to the functionality. However, it sounds like Read Aloud is a third-party product. Normally what you'd want to do is to reach out to the designers of Read Aloud to see if they have any plans on making an integration with Canvas. And, if you contact them, you'd want to make sure they are designing an integration that would work with New Quizzes in Canvas (which is also a LTI external tool)...since current Classic Quizzes will eventually be phased out. I'd suggest that you have a chat with your school's local Canvas administrator(s) to see if they'd be willing to research Read Aloud to contact them and see if they have any plans on creating an integration with Canvas.
I hope this will be helpful in some way. Good luck!
Chris's suggestions are excellent, @BRITTANYSCHMIDT. But I wonder if you have noticed that Immersive Reader has a read-aloud option. When I activate it I see a play button at the bottom of the window:

Another place you should be able to get resources is through your institution's special education or disability support programs and services department. They may have access to screen reader software for the students they serve.
My students need Immersive Reader for quizzes that I make, not just on/in their course. Trish maybe explained it better than me in the comment below.
The long and short is...my students need quizzes read to them and there is not a feature for that in Canvas Quizzes. I teach at an elementary school, so this is pretty important to their success.
I think @BRITTANYSCHMIDT is pointing out that Immersive Reader is not available in Canvas Quizzes. I know that New Quizzes is still being updated/improved, so maybe this functionality is still in progress. I don't remember if it was available in Classic Quizzes, but I know that version is no longer being updated.
Thanks again to @BRITTANYSCHMIDT for posting this question. I found a Community post from a couple of years ago from an Instructure project manager with comments on Microsoft Reader and Quizzes along with a request for feedback:
