I have followed the instructions for uploading a Google Doc / Slideshow to Canvas and I get a notice saying that it will change the share settings and everyone with the link will have access. It seems that "access" includes the ability to edit it. How can I upload a Google Doc / Slideshow without giving access to students to edit the original document?

Hi @LiaWallon ,
Have you actually had students or other users make edits to your documents in Canvas? I remember embedding Google Docs in the past (on an older version of the LTI), and when I went to "Student View," I realized I could edit the document, which worried me. But I think that was because the "Test Student" doesn't really exist or have a Google account, so Google still "recognized" me as the Owner of the document. I don't think my students could edit the files through Canvas.
