ADD FEEDBACK FOR THESE FEATURES IN Q&A TOPIC
- This topic is for feature discussion only—Please share use cases, best practices, questions, clarifications, etc. regarding this feature.
- Please thread replies as possible to keep posts organized. This will help everyone to track discussions and to participate.
ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK—WHERE TO POST IDEA SUGGESTIONS AND SUBMIT BUG REPORTS
- Idea requests for the Product Team to consider should be submitted in ideas.canvaslms.com . This is the best way to ask for additional or alternative functionality than what is included in the release. Linking to the related idea here so others can find it is encouraged!
- Bug reports should be submitted to Canvas Support. This way, cases can be connected and uniform updates can be provided to those involved. Bugs will not be triaged in this thread
Have these features already been rolled out to Beta, or is that coming later today? I ask because I've just tried drag and drop of an image from windows explorer into the RCE (beta environment) and absolutely nothing happened :(.
-Chris
The new RCE drag and drop mentions it will support dragging a video. If institutions had turned off the media upload ability (to force instructors to use a different method) will this feature respect that or help circumvent it? For example, we turned that ability off because we pay for Canvas Studio and Panopto and want instructors to use those instead of adding videos directly to Canvas and using up their course space (not to mention to other added benefits of using one of the other tools).
-Nick
Looks like you may be right! We'll take a closer look and get that resolved. Thanks for the feedback!
I can confirm this issue still exists today (Sunday 12/4). Instructure, please please do not push out this update without first fixing it to respect the "Disable uploads to Canvas Media from the enhanced rich content editor" setting.
-Chris
@chriscas, no worries! The issue has been fixed and will be deployed before the new functionality goes to production.
Thank you so much for the prompt fix before this went to production! Really appreciate it!
-Chris
