When I resize my video in the video editor, it reloads and I lose the timeline at the bottom. When this happens I can no longer adjust the timing of the animations for other text fields.
How can I resize my video without losing my timeline OR start a video project with specific dimensions?
Any help would be great!

@livmarx I am not sure which video editor you are using when you are editing a video, but if it is the Screencast-O-Matic/ScreenPal tool you should refer to the tutorial videos for using the tool as it may help. This one on editing the timeline might be helpful. Additionally, with Screencast-O-Matic/ScreenPal you can preset the video size when recording in the Capture Settings.
If you are using Studio Capture to record, you may want to consider using Screencast-O-Matic/ScreenPal instead as it will allow you to specify the screen size.
If you are using a different video editor, you may want to contact their support.
How are you putting your video in? Is it a YouTube video? If so, you can choose to "embed" it (a couple of different ways) and it will set the thumbnail size. You can also set the time you want the video to start and stop playing rather than playing the whole video. It would help to know what you're working with and what you've been trying (i.e. what approaches you've taken that aren't working).
