Changing my display name

I seem to not be able to edit my display name in canvas.  I am unsure who to go to for this though. Any suggestions? Thanks and much love

 @KristinL - what is the Community Inbox and how do I get there?  I have looked everywhere and my set up does not look like the examples shown in any of the guides.  I am trying to change my display name from Mrs. Potenziano to Ms. Potenziano, but editing is disabled for my district.    Thanks!

Hi @206939  -  This will be a question for your Canvas admin. I can only change the usernames that are on display here in the Instructure Community.

Hello Kristin, I seem to also have the same trouble in changing my "Display name" on my Canvas itself. The system seems to not give me the option of changing it myself. I would like to know if you have any tips or information to whom I can direct myself to so I can change my name to Yaquelin Rodriguez Olayo. Or if you are able to do that for me that would also be great! I look forward to hearing from you soon, thank you!

Hi @rsneharani,

Are you trying to change your display name here in the Community or in your Canvas itself?  Here in the community, I think someone like @KristinL would need to change your username for you.  In Canvas itself, you may have the option to change your display name from within Canvas, but many schools/institutions tie the names in Canvas to other systems and would direct you to change them somewhere else which would then update Canvas through automation.  In that scenario, it would be best to reach out to your local Canvas administrator (usually in the eLearning / IT / Digital Education areas) to find out what the process is, as we don't know that kind of information for each individual school/instituion here in the global community.
