Enhancement, it is not

The new "rubric enhancement" harkens back to the Blackboard set-up: the scoring is confusing and can no longer see/edit the rubric as it appears to student/creator.  When grading an item, the instructor has to "submit assessment" (changed from "Rubric", which was an unpleasant surprise since no one received an invitation) to see a total score/is thus automatically added to the student's Total without instructor permission. 

It was simple, clean, and easy before; now it's an absolute mess, adding several steps and forcing the creator to view in "Preview" instead of under edit, and an instructor cannot edit much after it's used for grading, which restricts editing/grading even more.

it's indeed pretty bad as is, and very confusing. Our faculty used to be very content with adding a rubric to their assignment, and then toggle certain settings on/off for that rubric in that specific assignment. Our faculty feels that the 'builder' has indeed improved, but actually using the rubrics is a lightyears step back in time...

Hi @quinten_verdonc. The user experience has changed slightly, but not to worry! You can still adjust settings for all rubrics after they've been created. Simply click edit (the pencil icon) and adjust settings within the rubric edit screen. Please share any other feedback related to the usability of enhanced rubrics!

This may be true, but reality is that the new workflow is very confusing to our faculty, even myself and my team of support agents fail to thoroughly understand how to set up enhanced rubrics to work for our faculty the way they're used to. The user experience is drastic, non-intuitive, and is creating so much endless, needed work. Toggling between preview and edit, having to edit individual criteria; the unwanted "display rating" (I cannot get rid of the zero-- it is extremely upsetting to my students, and I am tired of explaining to them that they did not "fail" the criterion, but to only look at the points). We need to be able to rid of the "Display rating" in its entirety, will still being able to view the point range during the grading process. I need to be able to see my rubric in its entirety, while editing. I need to be able to see and edit the rubric from the list. Not find, then ... then edit, criterion by criterion. The design has 6 unnecessary steps.

And creating a rubric in an assignment then deleting? It should save in Rubrics, no matter where created in the section.

@reenie_arnold Thanks for sharing. The total point score can be found at the top of the rubric. You can adjust the point value/score prior to submitting the assessment. We've also added the ability to edit all areas of the rubric - even after it's been used for grading!

The "display" of zero that cannot be changes is affecting my students. They are extremely upset, thinking they failed a criteria, when they did not. I cannot change the zero. I have tried everything.
