I'm looking for some clarification on the following UI aspects of Enhanced Rubrics:
Good questions @kda106.
Scoring: The Scoring at the top isn't documented yet in the guide that I saw so might need updating.
Location Used - I don't know why courses would be there, I didn't see a way to link to a rubric in another course. If I select a rubric from another course, it made a copy of it and pulled it into my current course. So unless this will be a future feature or part of a feature like Blueprint that I don't use, I think it could just be renamed to "assigments".
Display Number - I didn't see any value to this unless it's an accessibility feature, it seems confusing to display it to users but I might be missing something, again it's not yet documented in the guides I skimmed through.
Draft mode? If you create rubrics in the Rubrics area, which students can't access I didn't see a value in using Draft mode but again it might be a feature I just don't use. i.e. would it be helpful in working with multiple instructors in the same course? I'd love to hear from users that find this feature valuable as to how it is used.
Melanie
We we testing this today. Display number is very confusing. It's an index number that indicates the position of the rating, and always starts from 0 and will not necessarily match the point values. We see it's use in the editor, it was confusing to us as admins and will certainly be confusing to teachers. We also see it in Speedgrader where it appears in the condensed horizontal and vertical views. The default numbers from 0 up may not be consistent with the instructors grading policy. They should either match points or instructors should have the ability to customize the display numbers so they are consistent with grading policies of the course or institution.
We have not seen anywhere where students see the display numbers, so there's that.

Thanks for sharing, these are great questions. Happy to clarify each of these:
Location Used shows which courses and assignments the rubric is currently attached to. Since rubrics can be reused across multiple assignments and even different courses, this helps users track where a given rubric is in use.
The Scoring dropdown lets users remove point values from the rubric. This is useful in cases where instructors want to provide qualitative feedback only, without assigning scores. It's not about sorting criteria, just giving flexibility in how the rubric is used.
The Display Number currently reflects the order of rating levels (starting at 0), which was originally modeled after Outcomes scoring. However, we’ve heard your feedback and are actively updating this to reflect the actual point values instead, to reduce confusion.
Saving a rubric as a draft allows users to build or revise rubrics without immediately publishing them for use. This is especially helpful when collaborating with others or making incremental edits before the rubric is finalized.
