Google recently made some changes. This is the response I received from Canvas.
Thank you for reaching out to Canvas Global Support! My name is Johnny and I'm here to help you with your case. I understand that you were hoping to use the Google LTI for students to submit their assignments via their Google Drive account. Unfortunately, I have to let you know that Free for Teacher accounts do not support this feature. Only paid Canvas accounts have the ability to add this feature to their Canvas instance.
I know this may be disappointing news, but please don't worry. Your students can still download their Google Docs as a PDF or Word document, Slides as a PowerPoint file, and Sheets as an Excel file. Then, they can upload these files to Canvas using the File upload option. I hope this solution works for you and your students!
