Problem creating new course

Hi all

I have been using Free for teacher for over 2 years.  I have had no problems thus far adding courses as I go.  Today, I tried to add a new course, to be met with a box that asked me which account the course would be associated with.  Hitherto, that box has had drop-down alternatives (including a Private one, I seem to remember), but there are none, and whatever I add is ignored, so even when I add a course title the course will not be created.

I have looked this up online but find the box is different - it deosn't have this question, but rather asks for a little more detail about the course itself.  Is my version out-of-date, and if so how do I update it?

Can anyone help me to set up my new course?

Hi @silvamayflower ,

Are you using k12.instructure.com or canvas.instructure.com? To my knowledge, neither of those had a private option for course creation.

Are you creating a course off of your dashboard page with the Start a New Course button? From there you will see a bo that will ask you to select an account that your course will be associated with, and with free for teacher I believe that is NorAm, and possibly Manually Created Courses. You would likely select NorAm and continue from there.

You might want to remove this information as you have publically posted your username and password. If you need to send a message privately, click on the Email symbol in the upper right. Then click the blue button on the left that starts a new email and search for a user's name.

I too am unable to create a course in my free-for-teacher Canvas account because its asking, "Which account will this course be associated with?" - I've tried to find my account name to add it in this field but I'm not able to find it. Can you help me, please?
