Scaffolded Due Dates in Assignments for Equity Practices

Part of culturally relevant pedgogy and equity pedagogy practices include scaffolding assignments. As an example, students would have multiple due dates for posts in one discussion.  The first due date is for an initial prompt that could then receive feedback. The second due date in that same assigned discussion would allow for revision or reflection. This supports DEIA practices. I cannot seem to find this option. I see differentiated due dates but I can only release the item one time to a group (everyone). I hope to see Canvas implement more equity pedagogy practices to support diverse learners and Universal Design. I find this lacking in my use of Canvas which is concerning since I teach in a diverse state and at a Hispanic Serving Institution.
