What I’m looking forward to sharing with you.

Hi friends! I’d love to personally invite you to beam into my session at InstructureCon 2025, where we’ll be unmasking a long-standing Canvas mystery and connecting the dots to a powerful new solution.

I've wanted to solve this problem since my first week at Instructure, and I'm so excited to have been able to really invest in this area and build a solution that is simple to use and powerful in its capabilities. I cannot wait to share it with you.

And I’m not alone in this excitement, here’s what my co-presenters shared with me:

Since I began working with all of you in 2021, there has been a highly expressed need for simplified ways to find, install, manage, monitor, and take action on LTI tools incorporated throughout an institution's EdTech ecosystem, and I'm SO excited to see this work coming to light!

-Melissa McClelland

As a previous online instructor, I leveraged hundreds of edtech tools to enrich my students’ learning; be more efficient, engaging, and effective; and learn and grow as an educator and as a presenter presented at conferences on topics such as “Embeddable Web 2.0 Tools,” “Increasing Online Students’ Engagement,” “Digital Toolbox: A Guide to Web 2.0 Tools,” and more.

Edtech tools were such a fun, exciting and core part of my teaching. As an instructional leader, I had to suggest, vet, approve, and coach instructors on approved tools. Knowing what tools were vetted and approved, how to install and leverage them, and coach others on best practices  was a real challenge without a good solution at the time. Being able to work at Instructure and solve this problem that I had years ago and educational admins continue to have today is such a rewarding and full-circle moment!

-Teryn Odom

What’s that solution? Canvas Apps—a brand-new way to install, manage, and even monitor app usage directly inside Canvas. No lunar alignments, cryptic dev paths, or ritual sacrifices required.

Whether you're trying to tame admin chaos or summon new functionality from the fog, this session will guide you through what’s live now in Beta, and available in Production on June 21, share real examples from early adopters, and offer a glimpse into the roadmap ahead.

Who I’m most excited to see in the audience.

The kind of explorer who thrives on solving institutional puzzles and customizing systems to work smarter, especially:

  • Admins ready to expand what Canvas can do
  • Partner Providers seeking scalable magic
  • Tech leaders and curious tinkerers chasing that next great idea
