What happens when you have had Canvas at the high school for about 5 years, and then you decide to implement Canvas at the middle school? Chaos and confusion!
Our Canvas journey started with a 3-year rollout plan, but quickly transitioned into an immediate implementation due to Covid. Teachers learned how to use Canvas in a way that benefited the teachers, not the students. It was a matter of survival. Unfortunately, bad habits were created. Now that the middle school is beginning their transition to Canvas, our district is restarting the “rollout” with both the high school and the middle school. Our proposal is that when you are starting with Canvas, or revamping how you use Canvas, you need to first start with a vision.
This presentation will demonstrate how schools and/or districts should go about planning the implementation of Canvas, and how to train teachers to use it successfully with students.
