This session explores how a small liberal arts institution has successfully repurposed Canvas for faculty onboarding, professional development, syllabus archiving, student organizations, and institutional assessment—all without additional costs.

Taking the first steps down the path to a new Learning Management System (LMS) is a significant endeavor. This session reveals our institution's meticulous process of transitioning from a favored LMS to Canvas. Through detailed surveys, focus groups, and an extensive market analysis, we navigated community culture and positive reviews of our long-time LMS to make an informed decision on whether or not to adopt Canvas.

In the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education, effective change management is critical for academic technologies. 

We have surveys, anecdotes, and Canvas Analytics telling us how our users are interacting with our product in Canvas, but we found ourselves still limited in what we could glean from these insights and stuck on how to influence and inform our users.

This panel discussion explores the impact and functionality of Canvas Intelligent Insights from both user and product development standpoints. Two representatives from UT Tyler will share firsthand experiences from the decision making process to adopt the tool, implementing the tool, as well as the benefits, challenges, and strategies for driving adoption.
