Hi!
We notice today that students no more can distinguish between classic quizzes and new quizzes from the quiz index page using the rocket icon.
Normally, the white rocket icon indicates a "classic quiz", and the black rocket a "new quiz".
But if we look in the student view, now all rockets change to black. Even for the classic quizzes.
The distinction is still visibel for teachers though.
Is there any way we can manage these icons?
We need this distinction for students to be visible before they enter the quiz, as the use of Lockdownbrowser is different between new quizzes and classic quizzes.
Thank you!
Hi @FOULONIne,
Unfortunately, I don't think this is possible right now. As far as I know, students have never seen an icon distinction between classic quizzes and new quizzes, probably to keep things more consistent for them as it's normally less important for a student to know which quizzing engine is in use. Where I ran into this is with term-concluded courses where faculty have read-only access and don't have separate icons either anymore (as I guess the code treats them more like students). I do wish Instructure would adjust this, but I don't know how high on the priority list it is at this point. If you have a strong need for it, I'd suggest reporting this to Canvas Support so they can take a look and potentially escalate this. Your use case may increase the urgency for a change here compared to mine.

Thanks @chriscas for your reply!
In the meantime I also found a Canvas Idea, submitted earlier this year asking for exactly the same thing.
I will escalate this further indeed and hope it gets on the roadmap.
