Could you please make the 'global menu bar' on the left side a different color in the beta so we know we are in it?

When we created our roles, we 'had' to copy from another default role instead of creating a NEW role. In copying from another existing role, it displays the role on the People Menu, Enrollments section of that screen as the 'base-role-type' not 'role'. How I know this is because if you run an enrollment report, the column heads are using these terms. The base-type-role is the role we copied from. Role is the new role name created. The People Menu, Enrollments section should display the 'role', not the 'base-type-role'. In our situation, we copied the default teacher role to create a new role called YDP. This role only uses some of the permisison's assigned to the original teacher role. We use the People menu, Enrollment section to verify that our YDPs are assigned to the correct course using the correct permission. Because this screen does not display the correct information it is difficult to use it at all. The attachment shows an example of where it lists me as a teacher, when my real role was a CM/DES. 🔎 This idea has been archived. While this idea isn't open for comments, it is an important part of Instructure’s idea conversations and development process. Contributions like this are valuable as Instructure prioritizes work on new or existing features.

24 hours is right in your online resources. What I did find is that once the new user is added, and I get the notification alert, I also have to click the add new user again to have it display. I was not doing that because the alert notification said it was added, so why do it twice? I also found that if I do a refresh to the screen, it then displays. It does not do that automatically on any of the screens where changes are made in Canvas. Another example of this is if I update a course's information, like a name, sis id, when you return to the courses list, it too does not refresh the screen, still showing the old information, not the update information. This was part of the problem.

Yes, in the instance of Canvas that we have, we do not have that ability on screen. If I run a provision report for users, there is a field called STATUS that shows that user as active. So I know there is a field for it, just not available to us, the Admin, to select to inactive that person. Because of the license type we have, I need to remove all inactive users before the end of our contract term. Without this ability, I have to "fudge" another field so i know which users to remove at the end of our term. Silly to have to do this instead of using the provided field needed that exists in Canvas.

Hi Stefanie, thank you for your input. I just think that in database management, no one should be allowed to delete anything. Inactivate it - yes, delete it - no. That was my point.

This is not an acceptable answer. I should be able to click on a form used in Canvas and not have it autofill, browser or not. This is a cloud application and your program should be able to select to disable that feature within it. I need the autofill for many other programs, so I do not think this is an acceptable answer. admin, courses, course selection, settings, sections - It would be great if we could set the start date by section. I have several courses that have multiple sections and they do not all start at the same time.

admin, permissions, admin account - it would be great to separate many of the permissions that allow users to delete. A deletion should seldom occur in a database environment. This is lost history. They should be able to inactivate items instead.

When I add a new user to an existing course, I do not see them in the list. I am the LMS Admin and should see this immediately. I to go back and try to re-add them a second time, receive an error that says they are already added and then re-click the blue ADD USER button, and then I see them. Why do I have to do this twice? I was then told it could take up to 24 hours before I see them and the user gets their email invite. Why is this? I have worked in many LMS's and the changes are usually seen immediately for the Admin. I can understand a lag for the person being added, but not 24 hours, usually within a few minutes or at the next screen refresh, not 24 hours later. Why is this like this?
