Assignment-Setting to Allow for Multiple submissions?

Jump to solution

Is there a setting that allows a student to resubmit several assignment attempts?

I would like to set an assignment to allow the student to upload 2 files.

Thanks.

Got it! Makes sense. Not ideal, but what about uploading the file and then having them paste the URL in the comment box?

Geez! I didn't even notice the comment box.  Yes, that works just fine.  Thank you!

Actually, the student can submit multiple times. It's actually unlimited. So they would upload files the first time and hit submit and then they would upload the URL the 2nd time and hit submit.

For the instructor, you can toggle between each submission in SpeedGrader. I use this feature all the time.

HOWEVER, unfortunately, even after YEARS of people begging for it in the community, students are only able to see the LAST submission and if you put comments ON any of the other submissions, they will not be able to see them.

In the assignment settings, there is no limit to the number of assignments a student can submit. I would suggest that the less limiting you make your assignment submissions, the more they can submit. So, for example, here is an assignment we did in my class and all the options I gave them for submitting.

Now from the student view you can where they have the different options to choose what they would like to attach or upload. Once they add one assignment, they can select the + Add Another File option, and it will send allllllll the things to you!

Hope that helps!

The problem I have is that I want students to submit a typed paper and a link to a website.  When I try it in "Student View" as a pretend student, it will only submit the last item that was included in the submission.  If I upload a typed paper first and the URL second, the only thing I receive as the instructor is the URL.  If I upload the typed paper second, then that is the only thing I see as the instructor.

Got it! Makes sense. Not ideal, but what about uploading the file and then having them paste the URL in the comment box?
