Hi @Purnima_deyasi,
I believe this is happening because the quizzes that you are creating and each of the questions, technically exists two times: (1) the first time in the quiz that you create and (2) the second time in a question bank called "Unfiled Questions".
I discovered this by:
- creating a quiz with two questions, each question contained one picture
- I exported the course (as described at How do I export a Canvas course? - Instructure Community - 785 ) and downloaded the file to my computer
- I imported the exported course file using the "Select specific content" option
- part one as described at How do I import a Canvas course export package? - Instructure Community - 795
- part two as described at How do I select specific content as part of a course import? - Instructure Community - 1091
- while reviewing what could be imported, I noticed that there were four files
- two files in a "Course Media" folder (associated with the two quizzes and the two questions that I intentionally created)
- two files in an "assessment_questions" folder (associated with the two questions in the "Unfiled Questions" question bank that I did not create but Canvas created on its own behind-the-scenes)
- NOTE: This is even the case when the original course does not contain an "assessment_questions" folder in the "Files" area of the course
On your/our own, I do not believe there is a way to prevent this except to use the "Select specific content" option while importing and import everything except for (1) under "Question Banks", the "Unfiled Questions" question bank and (2) under "Files" the "assessment_questions" folder.
If you would like to have this resolved, I would recommend submitting this to Canvas Support.
