After an outage on September 1, the Instructure Community is now fully available, including guides, release notes, forums, and groups. If some styling still looks unusual, clear your cache and cookies.

When doing quizzes on Canvas, my browser (Firefox) starts to freeze, which makes it a pain to deal with when typing. The timer freezes, and I am just praying that I can finish this before the timer ends. Typing is so bad when it freezes every second. The weird part is that it starts well but then starts to freeze.
Could there be any reason for this?

Are the quizzes that you are trying to take (classic) quizzes (as described at How do I take a quiz? - Instructure Community - 507 ) or new quizzes (as described at How do I take a quiz in New Quizzes? - Instructure Community - 291 )?
Have you reported the problem to your instructor or to your institution's Canvas team to find out if other students have reported a problem?

Sorry for the late response, I have not used any other browser yet. Maybe I will give that a try.
As for the quizzes, I have no idea which one it is (whether classic or new)

If your Mozilla Firefox is upto date (a process that I described back in April 2025), my first recommendation would be to try another web browser (such as either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge or, if you are using a Mac, Apple's Safari).
The type of quiz (whether "Classic" or "new") can be determined by reviewing the links below and comparing what you see in your course and what is described/shown in the video(s).
If you are still experiencing a problem, I would encourage you to either: (a) check with your school's Canvas team or IT Department or (b) if available to you at your school, contact Canvas Support directly. You can typically find out what support options are available to you by clicking on the "Help" icon that appears on the left-side of Canvas.
