Canvas Groups for Cross-Listed Sections

I have 4 sections of a class cross-listed with a new "empty" Canvas shell (this allows me to give the cross-listed mega-class of 4 sections a unique title). In this course, I have 1 group set and had Canvas auto-assign students to groups of 5-6 (students are in groups that span the 4 sections, NOT in groups limited to their section). If a student's enrollment in a section changes--i.e., they switch from section 1 to section 3--will they still stay in the group Canvas assigned them to?

Hi @Zooropa9476,

Since the groups are set more at the course level than the section level, if a student's enrollment changes from section 1 to section 3, but remains in the same Canvas course shell overall, their group enrollment shouldn't change.  I think this is the scenario you were hoping for, but if I've misunderstood anything, please let me know!
