Several teachers have synced their grades to synergy from Canvas, and the grades on synergy are slightly off- resulting in some of the students getting a different letter grade than what is on Canvas. All of their settings are correct, and everything is synced. Why are a handful of their students off by a small percentage?
We use Aeries rather than Synergy, but I've seen the same issue with Infinite Campus. Different grading programs have different grading scales and/or they round the grades differently. Your teachers may need to adjust one or the other (or both) so that they align. These guides may help:
Thank you for your quick response. I will look into the resources that you sent. Strangely, it is only for about 5 students in a class of 40 that have different grades in synergy. The rest of the class is a true duplicate. Any thoughts on that?
It affects only those who are on a border. So if Canvas has the lower limit of A- set to 89.6 (for example) but Synergy has it at 89.5, a student with a 89.5 would have an A- in Synergy but a B+ in Canvas. The grade sync transfers the numbers, not the letter grades.
