Hello,
I have recently been alerted to a potential bug with the Discussion Board Peer Reviews feature.
When the "must respond before viewing other replies" option is turned on, I found that some students are unable to access their Peer Reviews from the top of the Discussion topic page. They would receive an error message telling them that they must first reply to the topic, even if they had already done so.
It seems as if Canvas is only looking at the page of replies that the student is currently on when checking if they had already replied or not to the topic as a whole. In a topic with 10+ pages, this led to some students being locked out of accessing the links to submit Peer Reviews, despite having already posted a reply. If they navigate to the page of the Discussion where they have a reply, the Peer Review buttons work correctly.
Shouldn't students be able to access these Peer Review buttons after replying, no matter whether they are on the page with their reply or not?
Best regards,
Matt U.

Hi @Matt_Underwood,
This definitely sounds like a bug to me. I'd encourage you to contact Canvas support to report these if you have access. While we can provide some advice and help here in the Instructure Community, it's mainly a user-to-user help space so we can't actually do anything for system bugs like Canvas support can.
I hope this helps!

Hi @Matt_Underwood,
We just had a report of this exact issue here today. I filed a case with Canvas support, but I would encourage others to also file your own support cases as well so Instructure can properly prioritize a fix for this.
