Grade Sync Issue

Canvas is putting in assignments that are not due yet in as zeroes in PowerSchool. I have set up all the sync categories and checked the due dates. It isn't effecting all of my classes and the classes it is effecting it's not doing it to all students. This is greatly changing their grades in PowerSchool and causing issues with parents. Any ideas as to what is happening or tips to help fix it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

In the attached picture, Bell Work #7 & #8 are not due yet, but they have been entered as zeroes for some students.

Are the affected students in the same section? (only applies if you have students in different sections in the Canvas course).  If all students are in the class as a whole, it is strange behavior.  My thought was that you have multiple sections in the class and when an assignment was created, it was for one section, had a due date that was already past and that you have the option set on the gradebook where all late assignments are automatically set to a grade of 0 (to check this setting, click on the gear on the gradebook view - it should be under the first tab of 3 option).

I do have multiple sections and it is effecting all of them randomly. The due date is the same for all and it has not passed yet. When it goes into PowerSchool it is only marking them as a 0, not flagging it as missing. I do have the automatic 0 if it is past due set up as well, but the assignments are not past their due date yet.

have you searched the Q&A forum here for power school issues?  I want to say that this may have come up before - I just don't remember.

Random 0 grade showing

My district uses Skyward, and I have the same issue with assignments being marked zero and synced to Skyward before the due date has passed. The assignments are not labeled missing, but they are 0.

I am using the same settings I used last year to post grades, and this is a new issue. Previously, the assignment (title, dates, point value) would sync, but unscored assignments would have an asterisk if they weren't turned in, and it was before the due date.

In my earlier post today, one of the things mentioned was copying of an assignment from a previous class into the current class.  I seem to remember a few years ago that something along those lines was talked about as having the same issue.  Something with the settings on the assignment when it was copied resulted in the grades of 0 showing up.  Maybe someone else that has been on here for a while will remember the issue and what caused it.
